Cleveland State Community College will be offering several different Advance scheduling options this fall.

Advance is the College’s accelerated program that offers students a quick and convenient way to obtain a college degree. The benefits of the Advance program include attending class one or two days a week, completing the degree or certificate in a fast-paced format and working with the same group of fellow students throughout the program.

This fall, the Advance program will be offering its Medical Health General Education program. This is a new evening general education block schedule that will prepare students for any of the allied health programs at Cleveland State.

Upon completion, students can begin a variety of health careers, including applying for admission to the Nursing program and the Medical Assistant program.

Classes for the Electrical Maintenance Certificate will begin this August and will end in May 2014.

The classes will be held on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the main campus and the Athens site.

An Electrical Maintenance Certificate will prepare students to obtain one of the following jobs: electrical maintenance technician; electrician installer and repairer; maintenance electrician; industrial maintenance electrician; or industrial electrician.

Also offered this fall will be an applied associate of science degree in business management. This option is suitable for highly motivated and mature adults who are seeking an applied associate of science degree in the business management major — business concentration.

Many Advance students obtain their applied associate of science in 2 1/2 years at CSCC, and a bachelor’s in two additional years at a selected four-year college or university.

“This cohort program has helped me to have the ability to re-enter the work force with confidence,” stated Doug Quinn. “Not only do I have the opportunity to land a job in high demand, but the pay is exceptional.”

Funding for this program is provided under Title I of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006.
