The Cleveland Middle School volleyball season has gotten off to a strong start as the sixth-grade squad is undefeated in five matches, while the seventh-grade and eighth-grade teams are each 4-1.

With wins over GPS, Lake Forest, Chattanooga Christian and Baylor, the sixth-grade Lady Raiders have won 10 of 11 total games, including a 25-10, 25-23 win in their latest match.

Sofie Stamatiadas led the victors with seven aces, seven digs and three assists, while Lauren Lee helped out with eight aces and five assists.

Regan Fuller contributed five kills and an assist for the winners, while Gabria Hubbard posted four receptions, three kills and a pair of digs. Kaylee Walker finished with four digs, two aces, two receptions, a kill and an assist. Morgan Moffett had two receptions, two digs and a kill.

“I am really proud of the way my girls played today. They are a strong serving team and they continue to improve in all other aspects of the game,” commented Coach Patricia Flowers. “We saw more touches today than our other games up to this point, which proves just how quick they are learning. We served, passed, and hit the ball very well. The biggest things we need to work on are communication and transitioning from positions, but it’s coming along.”
