CMS splits with Athens

The Cleveland Middle School tennis team split with Athens at Ingleside Recreation Complex in Athens Tuesday afternoon. The CMS boys rallied to win six out of nine matches.

In singles, Jared Holland won 8-3, Hayes Martin won 8-0, Samuel Lee won 8-2, and Callaway Burton won 9-7. In doubles, partners Evan Griffin and Jared Holland won 8-4, while Samuel Lee and Seth Connor won 8-4.

The CMS girls won two of the nine matches played. Ivey Tolbert won 8-1 and Jenna Liner won 8-4.

The CMS girls take on GPS Thursday afternoon in Chattanooga.
