The Cleveland Christian Lady Crusaders returned to volleyball action Tuesday evening, splitting a home tri-match with Mountain View and Apostolic Maryville.

The first match proved to be a close one, but the Lady Crusaders (4-9, 4-6 in SCAA) fell short as Apostolic took both games by a narrow margin of 23-25, 24-26.

"The ladies made some vital adjustments after the TCPS loss this weekend and proved that they are still in the hunt in the SCAA conference," said coach John Mathis during the short break between matches. "We have some tough games left in conference but we are still alive."

The Lady Crusaders took on Mountain View (Bryant, Ala.) in the third match of the evening and made quick work of the Lady Lions 25-18, 25-4. "It was good to be able to get our bench in the game and get them some quality game time."

Jennifer Corbitt led the Lady Crusaders during the evening with 11 aces, two kills, three digs and a block. Emily Sexton had four kills, two blocks and an ace. Acacia Thompson had four aces, two kills, a block and a dig. Hope Nix had nine assists.

The Lady Crusaders travel to Tunnel Hill, Ga., Thursday to take on Dogwood Christian beginning at 6 p.m.
