The Charleston-Calhoun-Hiwassee Historical Society will meet Sunday, June 23, at 3 p.m. at the newly opened Hiwassee River Heritage Center in Charleston.

Laura Spann of Dickson will present a program on Gideon Morgan, one of Calhoun's early residents and a good friend of Andrew Jackson.

Joe Bryan, CCHHS president, will present new findings about several Cherokee graves located in the Calhoun Cemetery.

During the meeting, members will learn about new grants recently received for Phases I and II of the Heritage Center.

The public is invited to attend.
