According to a burglary report filed by deputy Brandon Edwards of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, he responded to speak with Jerry Falls, who said someone gained entry to his garage and took a Craftsman tool box, a weed trimmer, a paint sprayer and a leaf blower.
After investigation, Edwards learned that Falls would back a vehicle into place to secure the door because it would not lock.
Falls said the only other person who had a key to the vehicle was his former son-in-law. The car had been moved so the alleged burglar could gain entry, according to the report.
After further investigation at a local pawn shop, it was discovered Robert Free II had sold some items taken from the Falls’ garage. Warrants were issued and Free was arrested for burglary and theft under $500. Free was taken into custody and transported to the Bradley County Jail, according to the report.
The property taken from Falls was recovered and returned.
- A Kenmore range was taken from a property which was not occupied at the time.
Deputy Matt Landolt filed a report for the victim.
Someone had kicked a door in to gain entry to the residence located on Grayson Way. The incident was believed to have occurred sometime last week and was discovered Thursday.
There were no other items listed missing from the structure, according to the report.
The range was valued at $550.
Criminal Investigations Division detectives are continuing the investigation.
