KNOXVILLE — Before last week’s match against Auburn, the Tennessee soccer program announced the endowment of the Caroline Brown Scholarship by the Brown family.

The Brown family created a scholarship endowment in honor of Caroline for future Tennessee soccer student-athletes. The Caroline Brown Scholarship endowment will honor her time as a Tennessee Volunteer and all of the teammates, coaches and members of the athletic department who have positively impacted her life.

“Caroline’s impact on this program speaks for itself, both on and off the field,” Tennessee head coach Brian Pensky said. “And she’s not finished yet — we all know that! Donna’s and David’s immensely generous gift will impact this program forever, and we are endlessly thankful and grateful for that.”

Brown has had one of the most impressive careers by any Tennessee soccer player and has come up clutch in key moments. Brown’s match-winner against then-No. 25 Ole Miss on Oct. 4 was the 15th match-winner of her career, tying Kylee Rossi’s (2005-08) program record. She currently is tied for fifth place on UT’s all-time list with 26 career goals and she is tied for eighth with 18 career assists. Brown is just one of five Tennessee players all-time to rank in the top 10 in both career goals and career assists.

Brown has been a model student-athlete. She was a 2011 Third Team Capital One Academic All-American and earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-South Region honors in 2011 and 2012. Brown has also earned SEC Fall Academic honors in each of the last three years and she was named the Tennessee Co-Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the 2012-13 academic year.
