He attended Fourth Street Community Church. He was an avid train collector and loved trains of any kind. He was retired from Maytag after many years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Suits Miller; and his parents, James Henry Miller and Rosa Lee Green Miller.
He is survived by one sister, Phyllis Ledford; and one brother, Bill Miller, both of Cleveland; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Ned Johnson; sister-in-law, Jane McKenzie of Decatur; and several nieces, nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating.
Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
