Billie Jane Miller, 68, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2012, at the family residence.

She was the daughter of the late Della Collins Shahan and Luther James Shahan. Her brothers: L.J., Zane and Dennis Shahan, also preceded her in death.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden and traveling. She loved her kids, her grandchildren and children in general. She attended the Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Miller of Birchwood; daughters: Anita Caldwell, Jamie Ellis and her husband, Danny, all of Cleveland, Lesa Cox and her husband, Jimmy, Emily Miller and Bailey Miller, all of Birchwood; grandchildren: Kimberly Newman and her husband, Robby, of Decatur, Ashley Caldwell, Amber Caldwell and Seth Ellis, all of Cleveland, Zachary Cox of Birchwood; great-grandchildren: Isaiah Caldwell, Bella Sydnor, Mattie Newman and Veta Newman; stepdaughters, Betty Goodner and Judy Williams; sisters, Margie Foote of Birchwood, Donna Kidwell of Cleveland; and her brothers: Johnny Shahan of Birchwood, Pete Shahan of Decatur and Tommy Shahan of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with chaplain Dewayne Renfro officiating.

Interment will follow in the McInturf Cemetery with Jimmy Cox, Zachary Cox, Jessie Howard, Jackie Combs, Robby Newman and John Caldwell serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
