Betty Sue Clore Jenkins, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Lillian Mumpower Clore and Claude D. Clore. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Jenkins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Everett Jenkins; her daughter, Diane Boyd and Jon Feyen of Lake Elmo, Minn.; grandsons: Eron Jenkins, Nick Jenkins and their mother, Darlene Jenkins, all of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; her sister, Jo Youngman Dagenais and her husband, Vern, of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Darlene R. Jenkins of Ringgold, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty and Everett (“Red”) were residents of Murphy, N.C., for 59 years prior to moving to Cleveland.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Those who knew Betty will remember her love of animals and flowers. She always had a pup or two and loved to experiment with planting different flowers. She was a very vibrant person and loved people. She enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales. One could always count on her to keep the conversation going at any gathering.
A Remembrance of Life graveside service will be held today, Sept. 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in McCaysville, Ga.
