Betty I. Lewis, of Benton, 70, born into this world on March 24, 1940, received unto the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at her residence.

She was retired from Hardwick Clothes.

She was an avid Tennessee sports fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Padgett Lewis; brothers, J.T. Lewis and James Lewis; and sister, Mary Ellen Moore.

Survivors include her daughter, DeAnna Moore of Cleveland; brothers: Oliver Eugene Lewis of Cleveland, Houston Lewis and wife, Brenda, of Knoxville and Larry 'Diddle' Lewis and wife, Brenda, and Frankie Lewis, all of Benton; special niece, Angie King of Delano; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Blanche Rymer of Greasy Creek and Irene Brown and Ozella Godfrey, both of Benton.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, May 28, 2010, at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Firestone officiating.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Benton Memorial Gardens with Wendell “Buster” Lewis, Steve Lewis, Jamie Lewis, Tony Moore, Rocky King and John Lewis serving as pallbearers.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening at the church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Brenda Davis Fund, 353 Worth St., Cleveland, TN 37311 to help indigent patients receive cancer treatment.
