Benjamin “Ben” Masingill, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014, in a Chattanooga health care facility.
He was the son of the late Edith Roberts Masingill and Edgar Masingill. He was preceded in death by his sister, Minnie Masingill; and his brothers, Arlin and Lee Masingill,.
He worked for many years with Cleveland Plastics in maintenance, A. R. Knits and also did custodial work with North Cleveland Church of God.
He loved the outdoors and especially working in his vegetable garden. He loved his family and he was a member of Washington Baptist Church where he was involved with the youth choir for many years.
Survivors include his sons: Benjie Masingill and Richie Elliot; daughter, Amy Wilcox; four grandchildren; sister, Violet Easterly and her husband, Joe; brother, James Masingill; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Johnny Townsend officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Mile with family and friends serving as casketbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 this evening at the funeral home.
