She was the daughter of the late Veta Marie Willson Rogers and Herb Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Gaston; and her second husband, Lee Allison.
She was a certified nursing assistant. She was employed at Royal Care Nursing Home, Bradley Health Care and Rehabilitation and she retired from Life Care Nursing Home of Cleveland. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to church and gospel music.
She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Thompson Barger and her husband, Steve; her son, Terry Gaston and his wife, Melanie, all of Cleveland; her grandchildren: Jared Gaston of Columbia, Clark Gaston, Taylor Thompson and Alexia Thompson, all of Cleveland; her stepchildren: Roy Allison, Mary Stokes and Edwina Morrow; her sister, Janet Rogers of Cleveland; her special friend and cousin, Phyllis Stone of Benton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Josh Brown and Pastor Gary Sears officiating.
Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County with Jared Gaston, Clark Gaston, Taylor Thompson, Steve Barger, Roger Thompson and Ken Gaston serving as pallbearers.
A dove release will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
