Annie Baxter, 85, a lifelong resident of Old Fort and Conasauga, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her home with her family around her.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Boanerges Baptist Church.
She was retired from American Uniform Company with more than 40 years of service.
She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and going to the ballparks to watch her great-grandchildren play sports.
She was the daughter of the late Earnest Lillard and Mattie Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill “R.C.” Baxter; brothers: Earnest and Claude Morgan; sisters: Mary Ruth Kibble, Katherine Morgan and Bessie Lee Sherril; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Keller.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories three sons: Danny Kaylor, Willie “Billy” Baxter and his significant other, Renee, and Dennis Baxter: grandchildren: Mitch Baxter and his wife, Angel, Kris Baxter and his significant other, Kathy, Jessie Kaylor and his wife, Amy, Brittney Lewis and her husband, Michael, and David Baxter and his wife, Laura; 12 great-grandchildren: Cole, Brianne and Aiden Baxter, Blake, Gabe and Amber Baxter, Emily, Spencer and Katie Lewis, Lainy Baxter, Erica and Shelby Kaylor; three sisters: Mildred Branam, Tressie Moore and Betty Joe Pack; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor David Disney officiating.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Cole, Blake, Ben, Mitch and Kris Baxter and also Michael Lewis serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
