Anna Mae Hurt Cole, 102, of New Castle, Ind., went home to be with her Lord on Dec. 14, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, at the home of her daughter, Glenda Mason.

She was born March 1, 1911, in the home of her parents, Charlie and Martha Jennings Hurt, in Hidalgo, Ky., near Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Cole; parents, Charlie and Martha Hurt; brothers: Elmer Hurt, Fred Hurt and Tommy Hurt; sisters, Lexie Coffee and Fannie Marcum; daughter, Janet Cole Murphy, great-granddaughter, Sarah Riddle; sons-in-law: Ralph Upchurch, Dennie Lane, Carl Murphy, Beecher Mason and grandson-in-law, Lonnie Worthington.

She is survived by her children: Glenda Mason of Mt. Summit, Ind., Dale Cole (Dorothy) of New Castle, Ind., Joyce Rayburn (Bill) of Cleveland; grandchildren: Kathy Poe, Kerry Malpica (Carmelo), Tony Lane (Joy), Trina Estes (Brett), Marilyn Riddle (Roger), Tammy Worthington, Chris Cole, Caroline South (Keith), Dale Cole Jr. (Gina), Doug Cole (Brandy) and Amy Cupp (Travas); four step-grandchildren: Diane Begley (Bill), Mike Rayburn (Theresa), Debbie Cagle and Brian Rayburn (Krista); 24 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren and several extended family members.

She is the last surviving charter member of the Spiceland Pike Church of God (formerly N. Avenue Church of God). She was a prayer warrior, praying through the hours of the night for family members and friends. She loved singing the old songs out of the Church of God red back hymnal.

She loved celebrating Christmas Eve when the family was growing up and able to be in her home. She was a homemaker and loved working with flowers inside and outside. For several years, she did laundry and ironing out of her home.

She will be missed by many, but her life will continue to be reflected in the lives of so many who knew her.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services and one hour before Funeral at the Spiceland Pike Church of God.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the Spiceland Pike Church of God, 1941 S. Spiceland Pike, New Castle, IN, with son Elder Dale Cole, Rev. Larry Stevison, Rev. Mark Joplin, Rev. Tony Lane and Rev. Bill Rayburn officiating.

Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
