Albert Earl Miller, 68, of Athens, passed away Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013, at his home.

A native of Monroe County and a longtime resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Lemons Miller. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Ellen Miller; three infant brothers: Kenwood Tailor Miller, Raymond Lee Miller and Roy Lee Miller; and two other brothers: Thomas E. Miller and Clifford A. Miller.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Olin-Arch Chemicals after 35 years of service. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Riceville.

Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and W.J. Simpson of Niota and Pat and Lawrence Riggs of Madisonville; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Arthur Jr. and Thelma Miller of Cleveland, Austin E. and Louise Miller of Etowah and James L. and Barbara A. Miller of Madisonville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Family expressed special appreciation to everyone, including Amedysis Hospice Care and Albert’s loving neighbors and church family.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens with the Rev. Jimmy Elliott officiating.

Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Hilltop Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Miller, Steve Miller, Kenny Eaves, Cody Price, Randy Miller and Tyson Brewster.

The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
