Aldersgate Garden Club

The theme was "Think Flower Show" and was made from recycling materials with garden tools and live shamrock plants.

Seven Aldersgate members, Kay Cox, Billie Blair, Lelia Ware, Jackie Westfield, Margenia McKissic, Charlotte Scott and Cynthia Humes attended the District III Spring Meeting on March 13 at the Mountain City Club in Chattanooga.

Maggi Burns, District III director, conducted the business meeting. Debbie Shaver, D III Awards chairman, presented awards to participating clubs.

Aldersgate placed in the following categories:

First-place awards were Conservation (club); Conservation (individual) — Kay Cox; Environmental Education (club); Garden Therapy without client participation (club); Horticulture (Club); Horticulture (Individual) — Cynthia Humes; Program (Individual) — Cynthia Humes, How to Make a Butterfly Garden; and Scrapbook (small club).

Second-place awards were Horticulture (Individual) — Charlotte Scott; Public Relations (club); National Garden Week (club); and Yearbook, 20 Members and Under (club).

After lunch, the evening program was “Who’s Dreaming of Convention” presented by Maggi Burns, district director/convention chairman.

The TFFC Convention will be hosted by District III, April 1-2 at the Chattanooga Marriott Hotel.
