Emergency first responders, including deputies from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to a Ladd Springs Road address Tuesday morning, to aid a CPR in progress.

According to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, a 2-month-old girl was found unresponsive and CPR was initiated by one of the child’s relatives, who was present in the home.

“Once patrol deputies arrived on the scene, they took over CPR until emergency medical services arrived on the scene,” said Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for the Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of death has not been determined.

Bradley County Medical Examiner Laura Wittmaier said the child’s body has been taken to Knoxville for autopsy.

Gault said the investigation is continuing.

According to Gault, although the investigation is continuing, detectives don’t believe foul play was involved in the child’s death.
