On Oct. 3, you can, as part of Over the Edge, presented by SunTrust bank, a fundraising event benefiting the Boy Scouts of America, Cherokee Area Council and RiverRocks Games.
The Toss Your Boss program allows co-workers to collectively raise $2,500 in pledges to have their boss, principal or co-worker take the daring plunge, with the professional assistance of Over the Edge personnel who will ensure a great experience — even for complete novices.
The process is simple. Work as a team with your co-workers to collect a minimum $2,500, and your Boss Gets Tossed. An online template will be provided to help develop your company’s Toss Your Boss campaign. Fun for you, challenging for them, and great for the Boy Scouts and RiverRocks.
If your boss is too scared, he/she can “buy” their way out by supporting the Boy Scouts and RiverRocks with an additional gift of $500. Other ways to participate in the Toss Your Boss campaign are to simply commit a $2,500 company sponsorship and designate the company representative of your choice to go Over the Edge, or challenge your employees and provide a company match to their contributions.
Aside from the Toss Your Boss program, brave individual participants can also take the extreme challenge to become an “Edger” by raising $1,000.
Participants in Over the Edge are invited to raise pledges in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of rappelling over the 20-story rooftop of the SunTrust Bank building, one of tallest buildings in downtown Chattanooga.
Over the Edge, presented by SunTrust Bank, includes a Drop Party where local recognized personalities will rappel on Wednesday evening, Oct. 2. This event will also serve as the opening of the RiverRocks 2013 schedule of adventure sports games, music and fun taking place from Oct. 2-13.
Over the Edge is a unique fundraising event that has helped nonprofits across North America for 10 years now with a spotless safety record. Participants from age 16 to 86 have rappelled skyscrapers as part of the Over the Edge program, including everyone from team mascots to CEOs.
