Arlen “Peanut” Moore, Jr., age 89 passed away in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve, 2018 at his residence. He was a longtime member of Cumberland Prospect Presbyterian Church, and later attended Kinser Church of God. He was a member of the United States Air Force and the National Guard. Peanut was  known as a bass guitar player in many bluegrass, gospel groups, and back porch jam sessions. He enjoyed spending his later days playing with the Roaring 50’s and at the Senior Center, where he also played many games of pool. He and his wife “Cricket”, were known also for their gardening skills, raising vegetables to feed the entire family and anyone else whom might be in need. Through the years, he could be seen throughout McDonald on his tractor bush hogging or plowing for anyone who called.  Peanut celebrated Christmas in heaven with his loving wife of 53 years, Nova “Cricket” Craigo Moore. Also preceded by his parents, Edith Denny and Arlen Moore, Sr.; brothers, Burton Moore, Charles Denny, Claude Denny, Johnny Denny; sister, Billie Cartwright.  He is survived by his children, Dale Moore and wife, Kim, and Vicki Botts and husband, Arnold; grandchildren, Eric Botts and wife, Kathleen, Andy Botts and wife, Lauren, Brandi Davis, and Daryl Fain; great-grandchildren, Weston Botts, Maddox Smith, Nova Botts, Ashton Botts, Cooper Botts, Jayden Davis, and Ethan Davis; brothers, James Griffith and wife, Doris, and Don Denny; sister in laws, Yvonne Denny and Dot Craigo. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kinser Church of God (141 Kinser Rd Cleveland TN 37323). Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Guinn Green and Rev. Andy Botts officiating. Interment will follow at Earls Cemetery in McDonald, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ( Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is serving the Moore Family and invites you to sign and view the family guestbook below. more

Maybell Wilcoxon age 91 a life-long resident of the Ball Play community in Old Fort Tn., passed away Thursday December 27, 2018 in an Etowah health care facility. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Parlie Taylor Wilcoxon and was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. more
