In February, Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland and the Chaplains/Cleveland Net came together to celebrate Annual Day of Prayer at the hospital’s Chapel. “We offered the Blessing of the Hands ceremony last year during nurse’s week and it was so impactful and appreciated by our staff that we wanted to join in during the annual day of prayer,” states Laura Franklin, assistant chief nursing officer. During nurse’s week, we witnessed the chaplain’s praying with our staff and thanking them for their sacrifices. Many were brought to tears as they asked that their hands be empowered to bring comfort and healing to those they touch. From the nurse’s week event last year, we recognized how many people touch our patient’s lives and opened it to all of our staff. “We wanted our employees to know how thankful we are for all that they do,” states Lisa Childers, assistant chief executive officer. The response from the chaplains as well as our employees was overwhelming. more
