The local Cleveland Chapter of Woodmen are looking for ways to add value to Bradley. Every time the Walker Valley Lady Mustangs throw out the first pitch at Larry Haney Softball Field, it is always behind the backdrop of patriotism. This past week, the Lady Mustangs celebrated the dedication of a flag pole at Larry Haney Field. The six graduating seniors and their parents wanted to leave a memorial that married the passions of their coaches Lauren Limburg, April Richards and Rachel Percy. This year after sharing a read through Jon Gordon’s “The Carpenter,” they rallied another banner season around the theme #LoveAllFearNone. Discussing this among the parents led to a call to Norman Shock, a member of the local Woodmen Chapter in Cleveland. He made the request to the chapter and the next day the Woodmen responded by gifting these young ladies a flag pole. The parents did the labor — but this project does not happen without the graciousness of the Woodmen. What a moment to see the flag pole erected and dedicated two days before National Flag Day, June 14. more
